The Office of Family & Community Engagement
The Office of Family & Community Engagement, or FACE, is an office within PPS that is responsible for fostering community between families and school communities. The office offers resources for parents and community members, as well as opportunities for them to voice their opinions on current PPS events. This is a brief overview os some of their resources, but you can find more information on the FACE PPS Page[1].
Multilingual Community Agents
Multilingual Community Agents are a part of the FACE office that are responsible for facilitating communication between multilingual PPS families and school staff. In addition, they "encourage collaboration between educators and parents/guardians, and to support engagement efforts through brokering an authentic, cultural exchange." Multilingual Agents provide the following services [2]:

- Advocating for families as they navigate the school system
- Assisting multilingual families to fill out forms and understand district processes
- Supporting the most vulnerable students and families with available resources from PPS and partner organizations
- Placing multiple calls to multilingual families during district-initiated outreach efforts

Student Learning and Family Engagement
The Office of Student Learning and Family Engagement[5] is one part of the larger FACE office, which serves PPS in fulfilling the following needs:
- Attendance: This office works with schools "to develop systems and build the capacity for schools to work with students and their families in order to increase regular attendance."
- Engagement: The office identifies specific school communities that have "historically underserved youth that have been struggling with their relationship to school" and work to improve "school connectedness."
- Active Partnership: The office works with families "to ensure they have the tools and opportunities to be active and effective partners in their children's school experience."
- Capacity Building: The office works with the larger district, individual schools, and staff "to create effective family-school partnerships that support learning opportunities in the classroom, community, and at home."
You can find those employees responsible for these goals both across the district and in specific schools on the Teams page[6] of the Office of Student Learning and Family Engagement. In addition, you can find additional tools[7] that the office provides, including the "Let's Talk" platform, Site Councils, and the Student-Family Partnerships Calendar[8].
Family Advisory Committee on Education (FACE)
The Family Advisory Committee on Education[9] is a public committee comprised of community representatives, providing space for one from each school, and district staff who "meet monthly to discuss PPS instructional priorities and initiatives." [10] In order to be a community representative, one must be selected from the School Site Council with a time commitment of one year. According to the committee charter[11], "each year, the Executive Sponsor will revisit the structure and membership to improve the effectiveness of the group." One Chairperson is assigned among the members of the committee, and is responsible for "agenda review, attend pre-FACE planning meetings and manage meeting protocols, as well as prepare recommendations for presentation to the Council" with a term limit of two years. To join and gain access to the livestream, you must fill out this Google Form[12] or email otl@pps.net.
