IGA between PPS and the Police Bureau

Resolution 5771: Resolution to Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of Portland, through the Portland Police Bureau, and Portland Public Schools

This Resolution resolved that the Superintendent was to present a comprehensive review at the first board meeting in December 2019.

This Board Meeting is the December 3rd meeting.

No evidence of the review being presented at the Board meeting, nor at the meeting later that month, on December 17.

The reason for this is because Resolution 5807 suspended the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Police Bureau and the district. The given reason for suspension of the IGA is in part C of the Recitals, “The Board of Education desires a more comprehensive conversation with students and staff of the school district regarding School Resource Officers and security in PPS schools”.
