Academic Counseling
PPS Academic Counseling[1] is a multi-faceted program. These services are provided by school counselors, which include both academic/college counselors. These counselors, however, sometimes also provide social-emotional support for students and serve in place of school psychologists, particularly when school psychologists are not available at a campus on a given day.
The services provided in academic counseling vary by school and grade level. Middle and high schools generally have more student-facing academic counseling. For families seeking support for their children in academics, reaching out to a school counselor is recommended, though the Special Education coordinator or the school's TAG coordinator can also be contacted if there is a more specific concern.
