all right
this board meeting of the board of
education for September 26 2022 is
called the order for tonight's meeting
any item voted on has been posted on the
PPS website under the board meetings Tab
and man I want a new script this gets
old real fast this meeting is being
streamed live on PPS TV services website
and on Channel 28 will be replayed
through the next two weeks you can check
the district website for replay times
um good evening
um thank you for a few people for being
here this evening the purpose of
tonight's meeting is to approve an
expenditure contract which will provide
service to our students
and the board is now going to move
forward on that expenditure contract do
I have a motion and a second to adopt
resolution
6583 expenditure contracts that exceed
150 000 for delegation of authority
motion second director green moves and
director to pass seconds the adoption of
resolution 6583 is there any board
discussion
I just want to appreciate Danny Ledesma
and her team for uh working through this
and getting it back to us in a timely
fashion
and the superintendent as well for his
direct involvement
Ms Powell is there any public comment
great the board will now vote on
resolution 6583 all in favor please
indicate by saying yes yes yes all
opposed please indicate by saying no
and student representative McMahon is
not with us tonight Are there any
abstentions
the consent agenda is approved by a vote
of six to zero uh with the student
representative not being present chair
directors thank you for your support we
look forward to our expanded partnership
with I am Academy at two more of our
middle schools
thank you any other business at this
time before we adjourn
okay the next I do just want to say for
the record that we had approved board
travel uh and unfortunately that is not
going to be happening because there is a
hurricane in Florida so our board
colleagues are not gonna be able to get
to go to the cube conference which was
going to be I was really looking forward
to the learning you all were going to
bring back from that so hope that there
are other opportunities for that sort of
social justice work and learning as we
move forward this year it's actually
been rescheduled so December 8th to 10th
I believe
next regular meeting of the board will
be held on October 11th and we are
