Event 1: Board of Education Special Meeting - July 6. 2017

the special meeting of the Board of
Education for July 7th 2017 is called to
order I'd like to extend a warm welcome
to everyone present in to our television
viewers any items any item that will be
voted on this morning has been posted as
required by state law this meeting is
being recorded and will be replayed
throughout the next two weeks
please check the board website for
replay times the board will now vote on
leadership roles
beginning with the board chair position
at this time do I have any nominations
for chair so I'd like to nominate to
libram Edwards for chair do we have any
further nominations for chair all right
we will now consider resolution 5 4 8 8
election of board chairperson remove a

Director brim Edwards nominated for this

Vice Chair I would like to nominate

Chair I'd like to nominate Rita more

call for a vote for the first person

around the board we will now consider
resolution number five four eight nine
election of vice chair with director as
far as a brown nominated for the
appropriate - often an amendment sure I
like to ask if there is an interest by
the board to consider co-vice chairs and
could you elaborate on what the
functions as the role by statute of the
vice-chair is to preside over the
meeting in the chairs absence in
addition to providing over the
board meeting when the chair is absence
there is the planning and agenda setting
there is representation in the community
and with national organizations there's
representation on the committee
structure and a host of other potential
leadership duties I only offer it as a
something to entertain and maybe there
might be an interest in having a brief
recess that people want to discuss shall
we have a recess to the two nominated
parties why don't we do that why don't
we recess for five minutes to allow for
any discussion on this amendment come
back and vote on the amendment and
proceed with the vote on the nomination
for vice chair good recessed for this

of approving an amendment to have two
